WHY TRIKES?

Three wheels offer more stability than two when dealing with large, heavy loads. And the wider base offers more visibility on the road. We want Go Green Trikes to be seen — for safety reasons AND for marketing reasons. Besides, trikes are FUN!

HOW MUCH CAN A TRIKE HOLD?

There are two types of trikes in the Go Green Trikes fleet: The Truck Trike (by Stites Design) is our main workhorse, and the cargo area of each of these can hold about 600 pounds (800 pounds total but the weight of the rider and any modifications done to the trailer need to be factored in, so 600 is a fairly safe estimate). The capacity of the box is approximately 93 cubic feet, or approximately equivalent to a small commercial van or a pickup with a topper. The ELF (by Organic Transit) is a lighter weight covered trike that can hold 350 pounds total. Look for the ELF to complete smaller deliveries in the downtown area. On occasion, we’ll also utilize trailers (main ones by Bikes at Work) that are dual-wheeled, eight foot long commercial quality bicycle trailers that can carry as much as an additional 600 pounds!

CAN THIS COMPANY ACTUALLY TURN A PROFIT?

Short answer: YES! A similar company in Portland generated an estimated $400,000 in revenue for 2013 according to one source. Go Green Trikes may be seasonal (at least, we may on occasion make allowances for heavy snow) and won’t have as many trikes, but there’s no reason it can’t do as well proportionately.

CAN I ADVERTISE ON YOUR TRUCK TRIKE?

YES! We offer advertising possibilities with Go Green Trikes. Consult our Advertising page for more information!
